| Testimonial Hi Pioneer Tim,
Well the weasel did catch a mouse in front of the kids and they were amazed that he just seemed to know where to dig in
that snow. So maybe having them around wouldn't be too bad. We have a dog, but I'm not so sure he is such a big
weasel hunter. He wasn't too impressed with the deep snow, and would only go on the paths that the kids made. He did
chase the coyotes away though and has been vigilant against them.
We haven't got our chickens yet, hopefully by the spring, whenever that happens up here. Are your chickens free range? I
am debating with free range or penned. I know you can do the portable pen thing, so I am not too sure yet. With the wild
life of coyotes, fox and the weasel, and of course the unknown factor of the dog and puppy, I'm thinking maybe penning
would be better. That and the big owl we've seen. You kept the chickens from the show didn't you? What kind where
they, besides mainly roosters?
We don't have a log home, yet, we figure in about 15 years when we retire, we'll try that. That gives us plenty of time to
plan everything out. We are going to build the log bus shack as a starter and then go from there. You are extremely busy,
wow. But I bet you guys are totally enjoying it. Yep I know Riverton, nice place. There is a great bakery in Arborg, just
sort of a jaunt over to the west abit from Gimli. Hope all the weather is great for you.

We live up by Whitelaw, Alberta, about 2 hours from Grande Prairie, north and east, I think. Between Fairview, and
Peace River. Up in Peace Country, and boy, did they name this right. If you are every up this way, you have got to let us
know, we'd love to visit.
Our 3 youngest go to a small school, with about 30 students, 2 classrooms of 3 grades each. It's alot of prep work for the
teachers, but the students are really flourishing. The school board is threatening to close the school, because of low
enrolment. That just seems to be the way of life for the rural schools. Unfortunately.
Well I better go. Have a good day, and please say hi to Deanna for me. You two were part of the inspiration for us to
move up here and slowly start our dream of self sufficiency and living off the grid.
