| Testimonial Hi Tim and Deanna,
My name is Shirley Paterson. I live in Oakville, Ontario with my 11 year old son and hubby, plus a Chihuahua cross that thinks she is a
Rotweiller :-)
It has taken me 3 years to finally write to you. I have just finished watching the Pioneer Quest tape (for the umpteenth time.. I never get bored
with it) and each time I watch it I think what a wonderful experience that must have been for you, hard yes, but wonderful... and in all honesty,
I'm a bit jealous :-) Have you ever thought of starting a retreat for people to experience the same thing you did?
Even though I have never met either of you, I feel as if I have known you for years. Well, thanks to technology and the VCR, I have. Every time I
watch the last episode of Pioneer Quest I can honestly say, that I could feel what you were feeling... sad to be leaving a peace of Heaven (minus
the mosquitoes) and I cry each time I watch it. I can also understand just how attached you would become to the animals... the sound of the
chickens always make me laugh when you were in the cow barn milking Daisy... there was always one chicken that said "hello" in it's own
clucky way. I also loved the fact that you were so upfront with your faith and your love of God... something we have very much in common.
Do you ever get time to go back and visit the homestead and the Hutterites? (sorry about the spelling) Have you seen Duke, Diamond and
Daisy since you have left?

I truly believe people long to go back to the simpler ways of life and how much better it would be for this Earth of ours. Have the modern
conveniences crept back into your lives full force, or do you still try and do things the Pioneer way?
My husband and I rent a house in Oakville and I try to do things simply... unfortunately, the property this house is on is weed and bug infested
from previous tenants and landlord neglect, plus many, many trees... but I will not give up my quest to have a veggie garden of sorts. I would
dearly love to meet both of you some day... and I know my hubby and son would too.
Oh, my other question is, have both of you gone completely back to the life you had before, or did this time on Pioneer Quest give you a different
perspective on things and re-evaluate your life? Sorry to be so nosey.
Well, Deanna and Tim, I hope I haven't bored you completely and I would love to stay in touch with you if you have the time... I think you are a
wonderful couple and a great inspiration. (Deanna, I know exactly how you felt being away from your boys... you are one strong lady, I don't
know if I could have lasted that long not seeing my Dale).
Take care and God Bless,
Shirley Paterson
