IPTV
(Iowa Public Television) PBS

"The Treadways were invited down to Des Moines, Iowa to participate in the PBS and in particular Iowa Public Television (IPTV) festival. Cyndy Robbins from IPTV writes:"This is a week long fundraiser during which time the station will be broadcasting the last two episodes of the series Pioneer Quest. We would like to have you live in our studio during this time, so that we can have you share your experiences with the audience during our live pledge breaks."

IPTV has an education program that allows a presenter to go "live" into any school in the State of Iowa. Deanna says: "This was truly a unique experience speaking to classrooms via satellite. We could interact with the various students on our TV screen as each class had microphones and cameras.

WOW! What a change from the 'one room school house'. " Thank you to Dan Wardell for the photos and for helping to orchestrate these sessions.

IPTV states: "We have the ability to connect to schools across the state via a fiber optics system. It's a way to interact with hundreds of students in real time. Here at the IPTV building, we have a classroom set up, and can bring in a class. While you talk to them, you'll also be talking to students from all over the state, who are able watch and interact with you."

"The Treadways were invited back again in June to meet some of the supporters. The Living History Farm hosted the event on their fabulous pioneer grounds. Laughter was heard and tears were shed as Tim and Deanna shared their story to the full house audience. Well after the door prizes were given away and the closing remarks, many folks stayed behind for more stories, questions, photos and autographs." Thank you Patty Foster with IPTV for making this event happen.

"IPTV brought Tim and Deanna down to participate in America's #2 'thing to do in America'...the Iowa State Fair. IPTV sponsored the whole day and had representatives from many of their shows including Elmo from Sesame Street and Don Woods from Colonial House."

A Letter From the
Communications Manager

Dear Tim and Deanna,

Thank you very much for all your work to make IPTV Day at the Fair a success!!

The story you have to tell, and the enthusiasm with which you tell it, are key reasons you had standing-room-only crowds at your events and in our tent. We hope you enjoyed your visit to the Fair, and weren't haunted by nightmares of giant turkey legs!

IPTV Day at the Fair was a big success, thanks in large part to your efforts. At Iowa Public Television, we see ourselves as Iowa1s network, and we need the involvement of people like you to ensure our continued success. So, from our work together during Festival to the Country School at the Iowa State Fair, we thank you. We couldn't have done it without you!

Best regards,
Jennifer Glover Konfrst, APR
